IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR PATIENTS
We are delighted to inform you that after taking into account how strongly some of our patients felt regarding the new appointment system we are going to make some further changes that we hope will improve the service we give to our patients.
Of course due to the current pandemic we still do not want to encourage patients to walk into the surgery and the initial contact with a GP will be done via a telephone call.
If you have a medical problem, please ring the Heart of Bath on 01225 613100 and press Option 1 for appointments.
The receptionist will take your name, best telephone number to contact you on, and ask you in confidence a brief description of your symptoms and an up to day contact telephone, its one appointment for one problem.
Same day GP telephone appointments are released at 8am for the morning and 2pm for the afternoon. If you are booked in for your telephone appointment in the morning the GP will ring you before 2pm. If you are booked in for your telephone appointment in the afternoon the GP will ring you between 2pm and 6pm. You will not be given a stated time.
The Doctor will attempt to call you 3 times. If you are unable to answer your phone on the 3rd occasion, your telephone appointment will be marked as DNA (Did not attend) and you will need to call again and make another appointment.
Please remember if you have given a mobile number for the Doctor to call you please keep your phone charged and in range.
If you need a face to face GP Appointment this will be arranged by the GP.
Missed face to face appointments that are booked by the GP waste valuable clinical time. If you are not able to make your appointment, please do call us to let us know, as we may be able to offer your appointment to another patient, even up to the last minute, though we would prefer as much notice as possible.
