You can order your repeat medication in several ways:
Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in writing by using the slip attached to their previous prescription or by calling 01225 315333 from 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 4pm weekdays. If you phone the surgery directly on 01225 613100 please select option 2 to request medication at the times mentioned about.
Alternatively you can order online via the link at the top of this page. Registration is required before using the system for the first time. New users should visit the surgery with photo ID for login details.
There is an onsite pharmacy at our Oldfield site, (Hounsell and Greene), as well as other local pharmacies very close by at our St James’s Surgery.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow 3 full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
Local pharmacists, Hounsell and Greene, have a dispensing pharmacy on site at our Oldfield surgery.
The pharmacy is open during the following hours:
- Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 18:00
- Friday – 8:30 – 5:30pm
- Saturday and Sunday – closed
Please telephone 01225 315333 for repeat prescriptions. 9am – 12am and 2pm – 4pm
John Preddy Pharmacy is also very close to our Oldfield Surgery on Moorland Road, they are open during the following hours:
- Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:30
- Saturday 09:00 – 17:00
- Pharmacist is not available to issue prescriptions between 13:00 to 14:00 each day
Please telephone 01225 425356 for repeat prescriptions. Alternatively, you may want to use a pharmacy closer to your home, or that is more convenient to you.
Please tell your GP or the Nurse Practitioner which pharmacy you would like to use.
Just a reminder we don’t post prescriptions to patients or pharmacies. If you are out of area, please send us a Self-addressed Envelope or you can collect the prescription.
If you are taking medication regularly long-term then the doctor may decide that you do not need to see him/her each time you need a new supply of medicines.
The doctor will add the medicine you need regularly to your records as a repeat drug, which you can order when your medicine is running low.
Medicines which you are allowed to order as a repeat are listed on the other half of the prescription form. This is known as the ‘repeat slip’.
Our preference would be for you to order your request online, which you can obtain your login code at reception.
Alternatively requests may be made in writing using the ‘repeat slip’ or in a letter with all of your appropriate information e.g. name, address, medication.
These can be posted to the following addresses:
